Immediate release of the latch mechanism is caused due to the plunger striking the trip which opens or trips the circuit breaker contacts.

Type B MCBs are commonly used in houses and at light commercial and domestic lighting. They are designed to trip between three and five times the full load current.
Type C MCBs are generally used in our commercials firm. These are induction motors and fluorescent lighting. This type of MCB trips between five and ten times the full load current.
Type D MCBs are perfect for delicate gadgets of industrial and commercial machines where current inrush can be very high. Examples are big transformers, and X-ray machines in the hospitals. They are designed to trip between ten and twenty times the full load current.
