Why Buy This ?

Why Buy This?

The A9R71225 is the industry standard for 30 mA leakage protection on single-phase circuits. We hold this exact reference in both our Dubai trade counter and our Mumbai warehouse through MAS Global, so whether you are collecting today in Deira or shipping a container to Lagos, you are getting 100% original Schneider parts with full manufacturer backing.

Technical Parameter Specification
Product Model Acti 9 iID (A9R71225)
Number of Poles 2-Pole (2P), neutral on left
Rated Current 25 Amperes
Earth Leakage Sensitivity 30 mA (Life Safety Standard)
Network Type / Class Type AC — sinusoidal AC leakage only
Rated Voltage 220–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz
Conditional Short-Circuit 10 kA (requires upstream protection)
Standard EN/IEC 61008-1
Shipping Hubs Dubai (UAE) & Mumbai (India)

Before you order: Type AC detects sinusoidal AC leakage only. If this circuit feeds an EV charger, VFD, solar inverter or UPS, you need a Type A or Type F device instead — ask us and we will quote the correct equivalent.

Have a question about this product?

The Schneider Electric A9R71225 is a 2-pole, 25 A residual current circuit breaker from the Acti 9 iID range, with 30 mA Type AC earth-leakage sensitivity. It is the standard specification for single-phase final circuits where people must be protected against electric shock from direct or indirect contact, and where earth faults need to be disconnected before they become a fire risk.

This device provides earth-leakage protection only. It has no overcurrent or short-circuit trip element, so the circuit must be protected separately by MCBs or fuses rated to coordinate with its 10 kA conditional short-circuit withstand.

Quick Specs

  • Manufacturer part number A9R71225, Schneider Electric Acti 9 iID range.
  • Residual current circuit breaker (RCCB), 2 poles, neutral on the left.
  • Rated current In of 25 A, rated operational voltage 220 to 240 V AC at 50/60 Hz.
  • Earth-leakage sensitivity 30 mA, Type AC class, instantaneous with no intentional time delay.
  • Voltage-independent tripping technology, so the device operates even when the supply neutral is lost.
  • Rated breaking and making capacity Idm and Im of 1500 A, rated conditional short-circuit current 10 kA.
  • Rated insulation voltage Ui 500 V AC, IP20 protection, manufactured to EN/IEC 61008-1.
  • VisiTrip mechanical fault indicator on the front face, which shows at a glance which device has tripped and shortens fault-finding time.
  • VisiSafe window with a green strip on the toggle, confirming that the poles are genuinely fully open before downstream work begins.
  • Electrical endurance up to 15000 cycles and mechanical endurance up to 20000 cycles, Green Premium environmental classification.
  • Genuine Schneider Electric stock held in Dubai and Mumbai, with VAT invoice, GCC delivery and international export dispatch.

Applications

  • Single-phase final circuits in villas, apartments, offices and retail fit-outs where 30 mA additional protection is required by the wiring regulations.
  • Socket-outlet circuits and areas where people handle portable equipment, which is the classic case for 30 mA personnel protection.
  • Bathroom, kitchen and outdoor circuits where moisture raises the risk of earth fault.
  • Consumer units and small distribution boards where circuits are split across several 30 mA RCCBs rather than protected by a single device.
  • Mounts on standard 35 mm DIN rail alongside Acti 9 iC60 MCBs, allowing a common busbar arrangement where the manufacturer's comb bar is rated for the configuration in use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Type AC mean, and when should I not use it?

Type AC means the RCCB detects only sinusoidal alternating residual currents. It does not reliably detect pulsating DC or smooth DC leakage, so it is not the correct choice on circuits feeding EV chargers, variable speed drives, solar inverters, UPS systems or large arrays of switch-mode LED drivers. Those loads require Type A, Type F or Type B protection instead. The Type A equivalent of this device is A9R01225, which is the same 2P 25 A 30 mA rating in the Type A class. If your circuit contains any of these loads, contact us before ordering and we will quote the correct reference.

Does the A9R71225 provide overload and short-circuit protection?

No. An RCCB protects against earth leakage only and contains no thermal or magnetic trip element, so the circuit must be separately protected by MCBs or fuses. The 10 kA figure quoted on this device is a conditional short-circuit rating, meaning the maximum fault current it can withstand when it is backed up by a suitably rated upstream protective device.

What is the difference between 30 mA, 100 mA and 300 mA?

A 30 mA device such as the A9R71225 is rated for personnel protection against electric shock, which is why it is specified for socket outlets and areas where people handle equipment. Devices at 100 mA and 300 mA are intended for fire protection and equipment protection at incomer level, and are not a substitute where 30 mA additional protection is required.

What causes an RCCB to trip with no obvious fault?

Cumulative standing earth leakage is the usual cause. Every connected load contributes a small leakage current through its filters and insulation, and once the total approaches roughly half the rated sensitivity the device becomes prone to nuisance tripping. The normal remedy is to split the load across several 30 mA RCCBs rather than protecting a whole board with one, or to check for a genuine insulation fault with an insulation resistance test.

What do VisiTrip and VisiSafe actually do?

VisiTrip is a mechanical indicator on the front face that shows which device has tripped, so on a board with several RCCBs the faulty circuit can be identified without testing each one in turn. VisiSafe is a window on the toggle showing a green strip only when the contacts are genuinely fully open, which gives positive visual confirmation of isolation before downstream maintenance. Both are Schneider features that generic RCCBs at this price point typically do not offer, and both reduce time on site.

Do you supply test certificates and compliance documents?

Yes. Every A9R71225 we sell is 100% genuine and comes in original Schneider Electric packaging. We can provide technical data sheets and compliance documentation on request for project approval in the UAE, KSA, Nigeria and other export markets.

Is stock available in India as well as the UAE?

Yes. We hold this reference in our Dubai warehouse and through MAS Global Enterprises in Mumbai. Pricing shown on this page is in AED for UAE and export supply from Dubai. For domestic supply within India, including INR pricing and GST invoicing, contact us directly and we will quote from the Mumbai side.

Do you ship outside the UAE?

Yes, we ship across the GCC including Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain, and internationally including West Africa. Export and bulk quantity inquiries are handled directly by our engineer, who will confirm availability, lead time and freight on the exact quantity you need.
