The Schneider Electric Acti9 C60H-DC A9N61501 is a 1 A, single-pole, C-curve DC miniature circuit breaker for direct-current circuit protection in solar PV, battery and DC distribution systems. It provides a 6 kA breaking capacity at 250 V DC to IEC/EN 60947-2, using DC-rated arc chambers and magnetic arc control for fast, safe DC breaking and full isolation. Because DC has no natural current zero-crossing, a DC-rated breaker like the C60H-DC is required; a standard AC MCB must not be used on a DC circuit.
This DC MCB protects small DC feeders and control circuits against overload and short circuit in solar photovoltaic arrays, battery banks and general DC distribution, as well as industrial DC control and transport systems. The C curve tolerates the moderate inrush of PV strings and battery circuits while still providing reliable short-circuit protection. For DC system voltages above 250 V, connect two poles in series to reach up to 500 V DC.
Can a normal AC MCB be used instead of this DC MCB?
No. A DC circuit has no natural current zero-crossing to help quench the arc, so a DC fault sustains a longer, hotter arc than an AC one. The C60H-DC uses DC-rated arc chambers and magnetic arc control to break DC faults safely, so a standard AC MCB must not be substituted for DC protection.
Which way round is the C60H-DC wired, and can it be fed from the top?
The single-pole C60H-DC is polarised and must be fed from the bottom terminal, with the load on top; this is the same for every single-pole C60H-DC breaker. Follow the line and load markings, because reversing the polarity stops the magnetic arc control working correctly.
What voltage and breaking capacity does the A9N61501 have?
This 1-pole unit is rated 250 V DC with a 6 kA breaking capacity at 250 V DC to IEC/EN 60947-2. The breaking capacity rises at lower voltages, to 10 kA at 220 V DC and 20 kA at 110 V DC. For system voltages up to 500 V DC, two poles are connected in series.
Is a C-curve suitable for solar PV and battery circuits?
Yes. The C curve trips instantaneously at 5 to 10 times the rated current, which tolerates the moderate inrush of PV strings, battery banks and DC distribution while still protecting against overload and short circuit. At 1 A it suits small DC feeders and control circuits.
Where is this DC MCB typically used?
The C60H-DC is designed for DC circuit protection in solar PV arrays, battery systems and general DC distribution, as well as industrial DC control and transport applications. It mounts on a standard 35 mm DIN rail and is suitable for isolation.
Is this genuine Schneider Electric and can you deliver to the GCC and Saudi Arabia?
Yes. This is genuine Schneider Electric stock, dispatched from our Dubai counter to the UAE and across the GCC, including Saudi Arabia. We can assist with SASO and SABER documentation for KSA customs clearance.
